Purpose

Step 4 is when your agency's government service and system goes live in the Australian Government Digital ID System (AGDIS).

This step will help you to:

  • understand the process for your agency to go live in the AGDIS
  • meet ongoing obligations to retain your agency's participation.

Action 1: Go live with your service in the AGDIS

Once the Digital ID Regulator has assessed the application and granted an approval to participate, a participation start date will be given to:

  • your agency as an approved Participating Relying Party (PRP) in the AGDIS
  • the OSA
  • other participating entities in the AGDIS.

Your agency must go live with its service in the AGDIS on the participation date.

From the participation start date, the ACCC will add your agency to the AGDIS Register. Then customers, staff or other users will be able to use Digital ID verification through the Identity Exchange to access your agency's online services.

Action 2: Meet ongoing obligations to continue participation

PRPs are required to continue meet ongoing obligations to retain approval for participation.

Below are guidance documents that your agency needs to be familiar with to understand your ongoing obligations as a PRP. At any point, if your agency is unsure of how to meet its ongoing obligations, you can seek legal advice.
