About the Act

The Digital ID Act 2024 is supported by a number of legislative instruments, including rules and data standards. Some legislative instruments relate to the accreditation scheme for digital ID providers, and some relate to the Australian Government Digital ID System. 

Each legislative instrument has a corresponding explanatory statement. An explanatory statement helps to explain the purpose of a legislative instrument and how its provisions operate.
